Julio Guillen (Inkzvolte) is a Musician / Producer / Audio Engineer born in New Orleans but raised in Cancun, Mexico. Julio started composing, singing, and playing guitar at 13. He was influenced early in his life by bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Jamiroquai, Carlos Santana, Radiohead, Bob Marley, etc. Inkzvolte’s first introduction to the electronic music scene was at age 16 when he attended a psychedelic trance party. Even though he enjoyed electronic music very much, his career kept heading towards Rock and later on Jazz and Chill Out. In 2007 Inkzvolte enrolled in Full Sail University in Orlando Florida. After graduating as a Audio Engineer in February 2008 he moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina to study Bossa-nova, a Brazilian style of jazz. 3 months after Inkzvolte moved back home to Cancun where he made 4 albums out of which only one of them released in his own indie record label Autentik Dystrikt. In 2009 Inkzvolte began bringing his own flavour to the dance floor. Combining Techno, House, Minimal and Glitchy-Experimental-Grooves, Inkzvolte’s style is fresh, but also enjoys a darker set playing Live through Ableton with live Guitars, Synthesizers and Vocals. His live act blends styles from Techno, Minimal, Jazz, House and Experimental. Inkzvolte spends most of his time in the studio producing electronic music, composing jazz songs on his guitar, and producing music for other artists. Inkzvolte just started producing tracks for a new chill-out project called Purple Cell, with singer Milissa, and also just started a new project called “El Niño Voltiko” who will be doing darker remixes of his work as Inkzvolte. So for those questioning what Inkzvolte actually means, he describes.. Inkzvolte is energy experiencing humanity as well as a human experiencing music. stats
